Make this restaurant-quality garlic shrimp pasta in only 15 minutes. It is a perfect, fast dinner for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 ounces pasta (linguine or spaghetti recommended)
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta water before draining.
  2. While pasta cooks, season shrimp with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant; do not let garlic burn.
  4. Add shrimp to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  5. Pour white wine or broth into the skillet. Let it bubble and reduce slightly, scraping up any browned bits.
  6. Return shrimp to the skillet. Stir in lemon juice.
  7. Add the drained pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together.
  8. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if the sauce seems too dry. Toss until the sauce coats the pasta well.
  9. Stir in fresh parsley. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra brightness, add a tablespoon of butter at the end with the parsley.
  • Use high-quality shrimp for the best flavor.
  • If you prefer a creamier sauce, you can add a splash of heavy cream with the wine.
