Ingredients
Scale
1 cup prepared hummus (your favorite kind)
2 tablespoons tahini
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, mix together the hummus, tahini, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and salt until well combined.
Place the hummus mixture onto one of the prepared baking sheets.
Drizzle the olive oil over the mixture.
Spread the mixture very thinly and evenly across the parchment paper. Aim for a thin layer, like a cracker dough.
Place the second sheet of parchment paper on top of the hummus mixture.
Use a rolling pin to roll the hummus out until it is very thin, about 1/16 inch thick. The thinner you roll it, the crispier your chips will be.
Remove the top layer of parchment paper.
Score the dough into chip shapes using a pizza cutter or sharp knife. Do not cut all the way through; just score the surface.
Bake for 25 minutes.
Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven. Gently flip the entire sheet of hummus (using the bottom parchment paper as a guide) onto a clean baking sheet. Peel off the paper that was underneath.
Return to the oven and bake for another 20-30 minutes, or until the edges are deeply golden brown and crisp. Baking time varies based on thickness.
Let the chips cool completely on the baking sheet. They will crisp up more as they cool.
Break the chips along the scored lines and enjoy your homemade snack.
Notes
For extra flavor, sprinkle a little extra smoked paprika on top before the first bake.
If the mixture seems too sticky to roll, chill it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes first.
These chips are best eaten the day they are made for maximum crunch.
