Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless pork shoulder
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 12 slider buns
  • For the Slaw:
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrot
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Season the pork shoulder generously with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Place the pork in a Dutch oven or oven-safe pot.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour this mixture over the pork.
  5. Cover the pot tightly and cook in the preheated oven for 3-4 hours, or until the pork is very tender and shreds easily with a fork.
  6. Once cooked, remove the pork from the pot and shred it using two forks.
  7. Return the shredded pork to the pot with the sauce and stir to combine. Keep warm.
  8. While the pork is cooking or resting, prepare the slaw. In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and carrot.
  9. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, sugar, celery seed, salt, and pepper.
  10. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss to coat evenly. Chill until ready to serve.
  11. To assemble the sliders, lightly toast the slider buns if desired.
  12. Spoon a generous amount of the BBQ pulled pork onto the bottom half of each bun.
  13. Top with a spoonful of the fresh coleslaw.
  14. Place the top half of the bun on each slider. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can make the pulled pork ahead of time and reheat it before serving.
  • Adjust the sweetness and tanginess of the BBQ sauce and slaw to your preference.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the pulled pork mixture.
