Ingredients
Scale
1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 pound fettuccine pasta
4 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1.5 cups heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (or more to taste)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve about 1 cup of the pasta water before draining.
While pasta cooks, season the shrimp lightly with salt and pepper.
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet. Cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.
Pour heavy cream into the skillet. Bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Cajun seasoning.
Reduce heat to low. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth. Do not boil.
Add the drained pasta to the sauce. Toss to coat everything evenly. If the sauce seems too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss gently to reheat.
Serve immediately, garnished generously with fresh parsley.
Notes
You control the heat. Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning based on how spicy you like your food.
Using fresh Parmesan cheese melts better and gives a superior flavor to pre-shredded varieties.
This recipe balances Spoon’s comfort with Sprout’s freshness. Feel free to add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice at the end for extra brightness.
