Ingredients
Scale
1 cup frozen dark sweet cherries
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (or dairy-free alternative)
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1-2 teaspoons maple syrup (optional, to taste)
Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
Place all ingredients into a high-speed blender.
Start blending on low, gradually increasing the speed to high.
Blend until completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides if necessary.
Taste the smoothie. Add more maple syrup if you prefer it sweeter.
Pour into a glass and serve immediately.
Notes
For an extra rich chocolate flavor, use cacao powder instead of cocoa powder.
If you want a thicker smoothie, use less almond milk or add a few more frozen cherries.
For added protein, include one scoop of chocolate or vanilla protein powder.
Garnish with a few fresh cherries or a sprinkle of cocoa powder before serving.
