Ingredients
Scale
1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients called for on box)
1 quart vanilla ice cream
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Whipped cream and cherry for topping (optional)
Instructions
Prepare brownies according to package directions. Bake and let cool completely.
While brownies are cooling, prepare the hot cocoa sauce. In a saucepan, combine chocolate chips, heavy cream, milk, and sugar.
Heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate chips are melted and the sauce is smooth.
Stir in vanilla extract. Keep warm.
Cut brownies into squares. Place a brownie square in a bowl or on a plate.
Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Drizzle generously with warm hot cocoa sauce.
Add whipped cream and a cherry if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
For an extra fudgy brownie, use the amount of eggs and oil called for on the box, but reduce the water by 2 tablespoons.
You can make the hot cocoa sauce ahead of time and gently reheat it before serving.
Feel free to add your favorite toppings like chopped nuts, sprinkles, or caramel sauce.
