- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Wooden or metal skewers
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before use.
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, parsley, salt, and pepper. This is your garlic butter sauce.
- Thread the shrimp onto the prepared skewers, about 4 to 5 shrimp per skewer.
- Brush half of the garlic butter sauce evenly over both sides of the shrimp skewers.
- Preheat your grill (gas or charcoal) to medium-high heat (about 400°F). Lightly oil the grill grates.
- Place the skewers on the hot grill. Grill for 2 to 3 minutes per side.
- During the last minute of cooking, brush the remaining garlic butter sauce over the shrimp.
- Remove the skewers from the grill immediately when the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Do not overcook.
- Serve the skewers hot.
Notes
- If you prefer a spicier flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter mixture.
- For easy cleanup, use metal skewers or soak wooden skewers thoroughly.
- Shrimp cook very fast; watch them closely to prevent them from becoming tough.
