Ingredients
Scale
4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400 degrees Fahrenheit). Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Brush both sides of the fillets with olive oil. Season evenly with salt and pepper.
Place the salmon fillets on the oiled grill, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets.
Grill for 4 to 6 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit and the fish flakes easily with a fork. Do not overcook to keep the fish moist.
While the salmon grills, prepare the sauce. In a small bowl, combine the chopped dill, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, lemon zest, and minced garlic.
Whisk the sauce ingredients together until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Remove the grilled salmon from the grill and let it rest for 2 minutes.
Serve the grilled salmon immediately with a generous spoonful of the lemon-dill sauce over the top.
Notes
Select salmon fillets that are uniform in thickness for even cooking on the grill.
If you prefer a lighter sauce, substitute half of the mayonnaise with plain Greek yogurt.
For easy cleanup, you can grill the salmon on a piece of foil or a cedar plank.
