Ingredients
Scale
1 cup strong brewed coffee or espresso
1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
2 tablespoons gingerbread syrup (see note)
1 tablespoon whipped cream (optional)
Pinch of ground ginger or cinnamon for topping (optional)
Instructions
Brew your coffee or pull your espresso shots. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, combine the milk and gingerbread syrup.
Heat the milk mixture over medium heat, whisking gently until steaming and slightly frothy. Do not boil.
Pour the hot, frothed milk mixture into your mug with the coffee.
Top with whipped cream, if using.
Sprinkle with a pinch of ground ginger or cinnamon. Enjoy immediately.
Notes
To make quick gingerbread syrup: Combine 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves, and 1/4 teaspoon molasses in a saucepan. Simmer until sugar dissolves. Strain and cool. This makes extra syrup.
For extra froth, use an immersion blender or a milk frother on the heated milk.
Adjust the syrup amount based on your sweetness preference.
