Ingredients
Scale
1 fully cooked ham (about 8-10 lbs)
1 cup honey
1/2 cup Sriracha sauce (adjust to your spice preference)
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
Preheat your oven according to your ham package directions, usually around 325°F (160°C).
In a small saucepan, combine the honey, Sriracha, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, ground ginger, and garlic powder.
Heat the glaze mixture over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture simmers gently. Cook for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
Place the ham in a roasting pan. If the ham is spiral-cut, gently separate some of the slices to allow the glaze to penetrate.
Brush about one-third of the glaze evenly over the entire surface of the ham.
Bake the ham for the time recommended on the package instructions for reheating.
During the last 30 minutes of baking, brush the ham with another third of the glaze.
In the final 15 minutes of baking, brush with the remaining glaze. If the glaze begins to brown too quickly, lightly tent the ham with foil.
Remove the ham from the oven when the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
Let the ham rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing and serving. You can drizzle any remaining pan juices or extra warm glaze over the slices.
Notes
You can use a smoked or city ham for this recipe.
For an extra layer of flavor, score the fat cap on the ham in a diamond pattern before applying the first layer of glaze.
Save some of the final glaze to serve on the side as a dipping sauce.
