Make this simple, refreshing Watermelon Agua Fresca to quickly hydrate and cool down. This easy recipe uses fresh watermelon for a natural, thirst-quenching drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups cubed seedless watermelon
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed watermelon, cold water, lime juice, sugar, and salt into a blender.
  2. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth.
  3. Taste the mixture and add more sugar if you prefer it sweeter, or more lime juice for tang. Blend briefly to combine.
  4. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove any pulp. Press down on the solids to extract all the liquid.
  5. Chill the agua fresca in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  6. Serve over plenty of ice. Garnish with lime slices or mint leaves if desired.

Notes

  • For an extra hydrating boost, substitute 1/2 cup of the cold water with coconut water.
  • If your watermelon is very sweet, you may omit the added sugar entirely.
  • To make this drink fizzy, replace the 1 cup of cold water with club soda or sparkling water after straining the mixture.
