Layer the cheese slices on top of the bread in the skillet.
Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top slice of bread.
Grill for 3-4 minutes, until the bottom slice of bread is golden brown and the cheese is beginning to melt.
Carefully flip the sandwich.
Grill for another 3-4 minutes, until the second side is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is fully melted and gooey.
Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, and enjoy your crispy, cheesy creation!
Notes
For an extra crispy exterior, you can use a slightly lower heat for a longer cooking time.
Experiment with different types of cheese and bread to find your perfect combination.
Adding a thin layer of mayonnaise to the outside of the bread can also help achieve a golden-brown crust.
