- 1 package (14.3 ounces) Oreo cookies
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream, cold
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- Extra Oreo crumbs for topping (optional)
- Wipe the cream filling from the Oreo cookies and set the cookie wafers aside. Crush the cream filling slightly and set aside.
- Place the Oreo cookie wafers in a single layer on a plate or baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Set this mixture aside.
- In a separate large bowl, beat the cold heavy whipping cream and granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold about half of the whipped cream mixture into the cream cheese mixture until just combined.
- Spread half of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the layer of Oreo wafers. Sprinkle half of the reserved cookie filling over the cream layer.
- Repeat the layering process: place another layer of Oreo wafers, spread the remaining cream cheese mixture, and sprinkle the remaining cookie filling.
- Top with the remaining plain whipped cream, spreading it evenly over the top layer.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the cookies to soften.
- Before serving, sprinkle the top with extra crushed Oreo cookies, if desired. Slice and serve cold.
Notes
- You can substitute the cream cheese mixture with instant chocolate pudding mixed with milk for a different flavor profile.
- If you do not have a stand mixer, you can use a hand mixer for whipping the cream and mixing the filling.
- For easier slicing, use a loaf pan or a springform pan for assembly.
