Bake chewy blondies with a delightful swirl of maple and crunchy pecans. These bars are a perfect balance of comforting tradition and fresh flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Stir in most of the chopped pecans, reserving some for the topping.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Drizzle the maple syrup over the batter. Sprinkle the remaining chopped pecans over the maple syrup.
  9. Dollop the remaining batter over the pecan and maple syrup layer.
  10. Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the top layer of batter to create a marbled effect.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  12. Let the blondies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For an extra maple flavor, you can add 1 tablespoon of maple extract to the batter.
  • Ensure your pecans are toasted for a richer flavor.
  • These blondies are best enjoyed at room temperature.
