Ingredients
Scale
1 pound fettuccine pasta
4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
1.5 cups heavy cream
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
1 head broccoli, cut into florets
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Place the pasta, broth, cream, minced garlic, and butter into a large pot or Dutch oven.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently so the pasta does not stick.
Reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for about 8 to 10 minutes, continuing to stir often until the pasta is nearly tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed, creating a sauce.
Add the broccoli florets to the pot. Stir them into the sauce.
Continue to simmer for another 3 to 5 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender-crisp and the sauce has thickened to your liking.
Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until smooth.
Season generously with salt and pepper. Serve immediately with extra Parmesan cheese.
Notes
You can use pre-cut broccoli florets for extra speed.
Stirring constantly while boiling prevents the pasta from sticking to the bottom of your pot.
Adjust the amount of broth if you prefer a thinner sauce.
