Enjoy this easy and flavorful Oven Baked Honey Garlic Butter Chicken. It brings together deep, comforting flavors with a fresh, bright finish, just how we like it at Spoon & Sprout.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, and black pepper. This is your flavorful coating.
  3. Place the chicken pieces in the prepared baking dish in a single layer.
  4. Pour the honey garlic butter sauce evenly over the chicken, making sure each piece is well coated.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) and the sauce is bubbly and slightly caramelized.
  6. Remove from the oven. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  7. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley for a bright touch.

Notes

  • We prefer chicken thighs for extra moisture, but breasts work well too.
  • For extra caramelization, you can briefly broil the chicken for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely so it does not burn.
  • Serve this dish over rice or with roasted vegetables to soak up the extra sauce.
