Create fun, interactive Peppermint Marshmallow Hot Cocoa Bombs. These treats melt into rich hot chocolate, perfect for a cozy winter experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces white chocolate, melted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies
  • 1/4 cup mini marshmallows
  • Hot milk for serving

Instructions

  1. Melt the white chocolate in a double boiler or microwave.
  2. Using a silicone sphere mold, paint a thin layer of melted white chocolate inside each half of the mold. Let it set in the refrigerator for 5 minutes.
  3. Apply a second, slightly thicker layer of white chocolate to fully coat the molds. Chill until firm.
  4. Gently remove the chocolate shells from the molds.
  5. In a bowl, mix the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and crushed peppermint candies.
  6. Fill half of the chocolate shells about halfway with the dry mixture.
  7. Add a few mini marshmallows to each filled shell.
  8. Warm a small plate slightly. Take an empty chocolate shell half and gently press the rim onto the warm plate to slightly melt the edge.
  9. Immediately press the melted edge onto the rim of a filled shell to seal the sphere closed. Repeat for all bombs.
  10. Refrigerate the finished cocoa bombs for 10 minutes to fully set the seal.
  11. Place one bomb in a mug. Pour hot milk over it and watch it melt into delicious hot cocoa.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
  • Ensure your molds are completely dry before starting.
  • If the chocolate seizes, add a teaspoon of coconut oil to help smooth it out.
  • You can substitute milk chocolate for white chocolate if you prefer.
