Ingredients
Scale
2 large heads of broccoli, cut into uniform florets
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional, for finishing)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
In a large bowl, toss the broccoli florets with the olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until all pieces are evenly coated. This step is key for crispy roasted broccoli.
Spread the seasoned broccoli onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the pan; use two sheets if necessary to allow the florets to roast, not steam.
Roast for 15 minutes.
Remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the broccoli. Gently toss the florets on the pan.
Return the pan to the oven and roast for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are deeply caramelized and crispy.
Remove from the oven. If using, drizzle with fresh lemon juice immediately. Serve your easy roasted broccoli recipe hot.
Notes
For the crispiest results, ensure your oven is fully preheated and the broccoli is in a single layer. High heat creates caramelized broccoli florets.
This recipe works well for broccoli meal prep ideas; store cooled leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
If you prefer a lemon roasted broccoli flavor, skip the Parmesan and add 1 teaspoon of lemon zest with the oil in step 2.
