Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound salmon fillet, skin removed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • For the Zesty Slaw:
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage (green or mix)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Pinch of salt
  • For the Lime Crema:
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Lime Crema: In a small bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, lime juice, lime zest, and salt. Stir until smooth. Cover and refrigerate while you prepare the rest of the meal.
  2. Prepare the Zesty Slaw: In a medium bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, cilantro, and red onion. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the lime juice, olive oil, and salt. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss well to coat. Set aside.
  3. Season the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillet dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix the chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the top of the salmon fillet.
  4. Air Fry the Salmon: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Lightly brush the air fryer basket with olive oil. Place the seasoned salmon in the basket. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Warm the Tortillas: While the salmon cooks, warm your tortillas according to package directions (you can warm them briefly in a dry skillet or microwave).
  6. Assemble the Tacos: Break the cooked salmon into flaky pieces using a fork. Fill each warm tortilla with a portion of the flaky salmon. Top generously with the Zesty Slaw and drizzle with the prepared Lime Crema. Serve your **healthy fish tacos** immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the salmon seasoning mix.
  • If you do not have an air fryer, you can bake the salmon at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • If you prefer **Salmon Taco Bowls**, skip the tortillas and serve the salmon and slaw over a bed of brown rice or quinoa.
