A delightful twist on a classic appetizer, this Strawberry Balsamic Bruschetta features grilled bread topped with sweet strawberries, fresh basil, and a tangy balsamic glaze. It’s a perfect balance of sweet and savory.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or broiler to medium-high heat.
  2. Brush both sides of the baguette slices with olive oil.
  3. Grill or broil the bread slices for 1-2 minutes per side, until lightly golden and toasted.
  4. In a medium bowl, gently toss the quartered strawberries with the sliced basil, a pinch of salt, and pepper.
  5. Arrange the toasted baguette slices on a serving platter.
  6. Spoon the strawberry and basil mixture onto each slice of bread.
  7. Drizzle generously with balsamic glaze.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For an extra touch of sweetness, you can add a drizzle of honey along with the balsamic glaze.
  • If you don’t have a grill, you can toast the bread in a oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • You can prepare the strawberries and basil mixture a little ahead of time, but assemble the bruschetta just before serving to prevent the bread from becoming soggy.
