Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 gallon sweet tea, chilled
1/4 cup kosher salt
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon black peppercorns
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
In a large bowl or container, combine the chilled sweet tea, kosher salt, brown sugar, black peppercorns, bay leaves, dried thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Stir until the salt and sugar are dissolved.
Add the chicken breasts to the brine, ensuring they are fully submerged.
Cover the container and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or up to 8 hours.
Remove the chicken from the brine and pat it dry with paper towels. Discard the brine.
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
Grill the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the juices run clear.
Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
You can use store-bought sweet tea or make your own.
Adjust the grilling time based on the thickness of your chicken breasts.
For extra flavor, you can add a few sprigs of fresh rosemary or thyme to the brine.
